In September 2008 I got an opportunity to participate in a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activity. The location was Adarsh Prarthmik Vidhyalaya, Noida. We were a team of 15-20 people from Steria. We organized a painting competition amongst the different classes. The stationary and the refreshments were provided by us to the school children. The response we got from the students was amazing. They were very excited to see such activity getting organized in their school. It was good to see all the associates, assistant managers and the managers of the company coming together and actively participating. While distributing the refreshments in school we came across a class room which had kids of all ages and they were not in school uniform, on enquiring we came to know that the class belongs to “ANGANWADI” (it is a sort of crèche for the ladies who are working as labors). The school staff stopped us from distributing the refreshments to the Anganwadi kids but we were on a noble mission and our mission saw no boundaries.
The day ended with prize distribution and Thanks giving.
